This workshop is designed to create a relaxed, informative, yet focused working environment for all skill levels.
The core of the lesson will be based on drawing, values, edges, composition and creating life-like skin tone color. Students will focus on the fundamentals of drawing the human head while developing new skills in soft pastel.
The workshop will feature a live model, and Cuong will demonstrate his own techniques to draw from life. Students will learn to use an approach that helps them see the big shapes first, and then go into details towards the end of the session. This is a great opportunity for you to discover your own passion for drawing, or just take your existing skills to the next level.
Day1: Students will learn Cuong's color method, do some exercises how to layer colors to create realistic skin tones.
Day 2: Cuong will start his demo with life model in the morning. Student will start their drawing after lunch. Cuong will work side by side with the students to help them correct their drawings.
Day 3: Cuong continue his demo, applying his color method. Student will work after Cuong's demonstration. Cuong and the students will finish the portraits in the end of the day.
The workshop will have a wildcard spot that is free for an artist who can not afford the class. Cuong and the gallery team will review the submissions and select a promising artist. You can apply for the placeholder by emailing three of your artworks at firstname.lastname@example.org.
